status :: 1 passo atrás, 2 em frente
Devido a algum trabalho mal feito na parte superior da asa os paneis foram removidos e vão ser refeitos. É um passo atrás no tempo mas em frente, porque agora o extradorso ficará em dois paneis ao invés da manta de retalhos anterior. Desde há algumas semanas que há pessoas novas a trabalhar no Harvard e a qualidade de trabalho e velocidade aumentou. Como são ex-trabalhadores da OGMA sabem do que fazem e nota-se. A estrutura tubular central também vai ser substituida porque pertencia a um Harvard II e não IV (algures no tempo houve uma troca destas secções. É natural acontecer em tempo de operações porque as diferenças entre ambas não são muito significativas. A mais importante é que o II tem um suporte para metralhadora, a disparar junto ao motor e o IV não). Para isso tivemos de desmontar o berço de motor instalado e fiquei a conhecer uma interessante ferramenta com o cognome de “O Saca”…

Sometimes you have to step back so you can better go forward. Some less well done work in the wing upper surface demanded to be corrected. The panels were striped off and new ones are being placed. Which will be nicer in the end, instead of the quilt patch work only two big panels will be there. The work also have increase in quality and it is progressing faster. There are new people on board which have brought with them better skills. Former workers of OGMA, it shows they know what they are about. Another thing was the replacement of the center truss section. Somewhere in time someone swaped them and we had a Harvard II section instead of the Harvard IV. Now it’s going to be corrected for the happiness of all. The main difference between the two is the presence, in the Harvard II section, of a mounting for a machine gun, firing near the top of the engine. So we had to take out the engine mount which introduced me to a strange a interesting tool, the “Saca” which I’m still trying to find a proper word in English (does it has a nickname also in English?) (edit: thanks to WIX, someone enlightened me, it’s called “The Puller”. Well, it sounds funnier in Portuguese)
