em leitura: NASM e Lindbergh
Duas últimas aquisições acompanham os momentos de distracção das obrigações de trabalho. Como de certa forma relevantes para o contexto destas pequenas notas, aqui ficam as referências. O primeiro é uma recém-publicada “biografia” daquele que será, provavelmente, o melhor museu de aviação do Mundo. E digo-o pensando não só no seu gigantesco acervo mas, mais do que isso, na atitude como encara a sua missão e trata o objectos sob a sua guarda. Talvez dedique uma nota a este assunto futuramente…
O outro livro é o “We”, de Charles Lindbergh, escrito após o seu célebre voo Nova-Iorque - Paris e posterior digressão pelos EUA para promover a causa da Aviação. A história de Lindbergh, quer como personagem histórica, quer o seu impacto na cultura popular, merecem algumas palavras futuras, palavras que serão sempre poucas em face de tão grande filão…
Two books fill my sparse minutes away from the duties of work. Just thought I could share some words on them because they are somehow related to the context of these small notes. The first (image above) is about the story of the NASM which is, IMHO, possibly the world greatest aviation museum. And I say these words not only accounting its big collection, spanning the full of world aviation history, but their attitude towards museum policy of conservation, restoration and display. A shinning example that all should pay attention too. The other is “We”, from Charles Lindbergh, an autobio written after his famous flight and a tour around the US to further the cause of Aviation. On both subjects more remains to be told, I hope to return to them in future posts.
